Supporting Our Communities

DP&L and its employees have a long tradition of supporting the Dayton community.  The Dayton Power and Light Company Foundation reinvests in the communities we serve and contributes to the overall quality of life. The DP&L Foundation annually donates more than $1 million to a variety of civic, cultural, and youth organizations, with a particular emphasis on those that have an educational focus.

Our Business

The parent of DP&L is Dayton-headquartered DPL Inc., a regional energy company and one of the city's largest corporate citizens with more than $4 billion in assets.

Today, our 1,500 employees deliver electricity to more than 500,000 customers in 24 counties of west central Ohio. DPL generates electricity at 10 power plants, mainly located along the Ohio River, and has approximately 3,700 megawatts of total generating capacity.
