COMMUNITY

Connecting to Our Community

At Dayton Power and Light, connections are our business–not only the physical connections that we supply through power lines, but the connections to the people and communities we serve.

As a company, our success is directly tied to the success of the region. In fact, one of our core values is "to safely serve our customers, communities and industry."

In 1985, DP&L established The Dayton Power and Light Foundation as a means of reinvesting in our communities and contributing to the overall quality of life of the region. The DP&L Foundation annually donates more than $1 million to a variety of civic, cultural, and youth organizations, with a particular emphasis on those that have an educational focus.

In addition to financial assistance, our employees connect to the communities where we live and work by volunteering countless hours. And, our company leadership actively participates on a number of local non-profit boards and committees.

Most recently, DP&L was honored by the Ohio Arts Council with the Governor's Award for Business Support of the Arts in Ohio for the company's "holistic and strategic interest in the welfare of the arts community in greater Dayton."

At DP&L, service–in all forms–is an integral part of our company. We extend our gratitude to the community volunteers, elected officials, and local businesses that are committed to progress and growth in our area.
