Comparing Electric Generation Suppliers
If you decide you would like to shop and compare electric generation suppliers, there are specific steps you should take.

Decide what supplier criteria is most important to you.
- Price may be an important factor you want to consider. However, the contract terms, reputation, or viability of the supplier may also be important. Or, the source used to generate the electricity might be a factor.

- Determine the price DP&L is offering and compare it to each supplier’s offer. Comparing Energy Prices.
- Write a list of the questions you want each supplier to answer. What To Consider will get you started.
- Contact each supplier directly to compare their offerings. Registered Electric Generation Suppliers.
- If you decide to choose a new supplier, contact them directly to sign up. If you decide to stay with DP&L as your electric generation supplier, you do not need to take any action.
- After you are signed up, your new supplier will contact DP&L for you, and DP&L will mail you a confirmation letter.
- If you change your mind, you have 7 days from the postmark date on the confirmation letter to cancel the contract. If it is longer than 7 days, you may have to pay a fee to the supplier for canceling service before your contract ends. There may also be a $5 administrative fee from DP&L charged each time you change Electric Generation Suppliers.
