Delivering Safe, Reliable Electric Service
The employees of Dayton Power and Light are committed to providing our customers with reliable and safe electric service. It's what customers expect and is a part of our obligation as an electric utility.
An important component of our reliability efforts is to keep electric lines and facilities clear of vegetation. Unfortunately, trees and power lines don't mix. Tree limbs contacting power lines are a common cause of power outages and can create a safety issue.
To help maintain safe and reliable electric service, DP&L's vegetation management program—also known as line clearance or tree trimming—controls trees, shrubs, and brush growing around our facilities and equipment, including power lines. Our staff of vegetation management employees includes certified arborists and reliability specialists who manage the program year round.
