A "tap" is the process of connecting a new substation by running a new transmission line from the substation to an existing transmission line. This project involves extending the 138 kV transmission line currently connecting the Hutchings 138 kV Substation to the Sugarcreek 138 kV Substation in order to serve a new 138/12kV substation, which will be called “Gebhart”. The new substation will help to provide more reliable service to this area.
