This project will provide improved grid reliability, operational flexibility, and operating capacity to the northern Dayton area by installing a second 345/138 kilovolt (kV) transformer and a second 138/69kV transformer at the West Milton Substation.
Specifically, the project will help to prevent transmission system overloads in the northern Dayton area of the DP&L transmission system under various outage conditions, complying with mandatory Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC)/ North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) reliability standards.
