The communities we serve are important to us. DP&L invests in programs that enrich the community by bringing our company, community and employees together. Below are just a few examples.
Gift of Power
Gift of power is an energy assistance program funded with corporate and customer contributions that helps neighbors through unexpected financial problems.
Right Tree, Right Place
Right Tree, Right Place supports the education and planting of utility-friendly trees which reach less than 25 feet at maturity. These trees are less likely to cause problems with overhead and underground utility lines.
DP&L Summer in the City
This summer event lineup organized by the Downtown Dayton Partnership is designed to draw people from across the region into downtown throughout the summer for a series of themed events highlighting many lifestyle assets of our city.
Dayton Holiday Festival & Grande Illumination
Started by Mrs. Virginia Kettering in 1972 so that all children could enjoy the holiday season regardless of their economic means, DP&L is proud to continue the tradition, presenting the festival, Grande Illumination and Children's Parade with free attractions for the community.
Food for Friends
The annual holiday food drive benefitting The Foodbank and food pantries across the Miami Valley brings the community together to fill the shelves for neighbors in need.
DP&L Cheap Seats
DP&L Cheap Seats helps provide access for everyone in our communities to enjoy the world class arts performance brought to the Dayton region by the Victoria Theatre Association.
Dayton Dragons Professional Baseball
DP&L was a founding partner of the Dayton Dragons, making an initial investment to build a ballpark downtown, and continuing on as a key sponsor in each sellout season since the first opening day in 2000. The Dragons' family-friendly entertainment draws thousands of visitors to downtown Dayton and brings the region together in a first class sports facility.
First Four/The Big Hoopla
The Big Hoopla local organizing committee advocates for Dayton's place as home to the first round of the NCAA men's basketball tournament, or the "First Four." DP&L was an inaugural sponsor of The Big Hoopla in 2011, and Presenting sponsor since 2013; the event has been built around the economic development benefits of an event that puts Dayton on the national stage.
