cherry trees blooming in Wright Dunbar neighborhood

Trees are an important part of the environment that enhance the landscape of our neighborhoods and communities. DP&L's Right Tree, Right Place program encourages customers to consider the impact on the safety and reliability of electrical service by making thoughtful decisions regarding tree selection and placement.

Neighborhoods and small business districts were invited to enter into a raffle to receive ornamental cherry trees through our partnership with Operation 1000 Cherry Tree Project. The neighborhoods selected - DeWeese Ridgecrest Civic Association and Wright Dunbar Neighborhood Association - each received 50 trees to beautify their yards, public areas and replace dying ash trees.

Operation 1000 Cherry Tree project partnered with Siebenthaler Nursery, a locally-owned nursery and garden center, to plant the cherry trees. DP&L employees volunteered to help with planting in both neighborhoods.
