Ask questions of the company that approaches you, such as how long it has been in business and ask for time to review the written contract you will have to sign. There are many more questions you should ask when evaluating a supplier.

Call police if you are bullied or a salesperson steps into your home uninvited. DP&L employees carry photo identification cards and do occasionally need to enter your home to check your meter or your electric service. However, a salesperson asking you to switch providers does not need to enter your home to complete the transaction. If you feel unsafe, call the police.
