DP&L and Vectren have partnered with the Ohio Energy Project to provide a free energy efficiency education program for teachers, students and their families in the Miami Valley. As a part of the effort, DP&L and Vectren will provides 9,000 take-home energy efficiency kits with accompanying classroom curriculum and teacher training.
Each year, we work with approximately 60 school districts and 90 schools. Through hands-on activities in the classroom, the students learn valuable lessons about energy efficiency and conservation to share with their families, such as:
- how to install the energy-saving devices from the kits in their homes.
- how to make a difference by saving energy and helping their families save money at the same time.
The Ohio Energy Project, an award-winning energy education organization, delivers and facilitates the educational program for DP&L. The Ohio EPA recognized the program as an "Outstanding Energy Education Program" in 2008.
Apply for the Program
Teachers can fill out the application. Please note, the program is only available to 5-12 grade science teachers at a school that is a customer of both DP&L and Vectren.
